Welcome to The Terrace Pau

The Terrace started as a limited company in London in September 2001, providing English homestay immersion courses. In ten years we have successfully hosted and taught more than 350 students from 26 different countries. This type of course, where the student stays in the home of the teacher, is an effective and efficient way of learning. Students are usually business and professional people who need to improve their English quickly and effectively for their careers. Others are families and individuals who want to increase their English fluency, and also young people who have to pass English exams to enter university, for example FCE, IELTS, TOEFL.

In September 2011 we moved to our new home in Pau, Cataluña, Spain. Since then, we have worked hard to create a new, exciting centre for learning, based on our successful model in the UK, with some innovative changes. We are combining a casa rural business which we believe will give greater diversity to our clients' experience. Language students will have the opportunity to meet and practise their English with many people, and holiday guests can exchange views and information in return.

Local Area

Pau is a small, peaceful village on the southern slopes of the Serra de Rodes Mountains. It is within the Natural Park of Cap de Creus and the Aiguamolls (wetlands and bird sanctuary) read more

Courses

Tuition is usually from Monday to Friday, starting from 9am. Students can choose how many hours they wish to study. read more

Accommodation

The Terrace was an old stone house built around 1850 in Pau, a typical Catalan village. It has been completely renovated and tastefully decorated to provide relaxing accommodation with three terraces and a small walled garden. read more
